Drop Chance for Fyr’alath Legendary Weapon Significantly Increased on Weekly Reset

On the weekly Reset, Blizzard has significantly increased the effect of the Embers of Fyralath, allowing players to have a way higher chance to drop their Legendary Weapon starting this week.

Fyralath has a very low chance of dropping, but players can increase it by obtaining Greater and Lesser. The power of these Bad Luck Protection Items have now been significantly increased.

This should cause players that have farmed this weapon now for weeks to have a significantly higher chance to obtain it this week, while players that have not even tried yet to farm it will not have any effect of this change.

Many aspects of Dragonflight have reflected a shift in philosophy towards designs that allow us to enjoy reaching a point where we feel “done” with a character’s power progression. Legendaries returned as an exception to this. Legendaries are intended to be a special reward that some players would aspire to obtain over the course of a season, demonstrating a display of excellence in the most challenging content.

As Season 3 has unfolded, we’ve increasingly heard feedback from frustrated players who have been clearing Amirdrassil weekly on Heroic difficulty with no Fyr’alath in sight, and we want to give those players a surer path to achieving their goal.

Earlier today, with a hotfix that is now live, we significantly increased the effect of all Embers of Fyr’alath for players who receive them. This increase is retroactive and applies to all players whether or not you’ve consumed any Embers you may have.

As always, thank you for your feedback!

Previous Expected Drop Rate

We have previously reported about the difference of Drop Chance and Drop Rate, and how players have already found a way to track the amount of Legendary Weapons acquired each week.

In a statistic posted by Reddit User Content-Ebb24, more then 7% of players received Fyr’alath last week from January 10-17th. A Week later now, more then 10% of players have now received the Legendary, putting the amount of players with the Ahead of the Curve achievement to almost 40%!

Beware these are just player data acquired by Reddit-User Ebb24 every week from the official Blizzard API, collecting data from players with the Heroic Kill Achievement, also expecting that these players have received their maximum amount of Greater Ember and Lesser Ember from each week!
