Priest Runes from SoD Phase 3

All Runes in Phase 3 have the same location for both Alliance and Horde.

Despair Rune

Channel into 4 Ley Crystals scattered around the world. You need 1 material to channel per crystal (4 total). You can use the Worldcore Fragments found from Imp explorations, or a mage in your party can use Scroll of Geomancy:
- Feralas: The High Wilderness, /way 57 60
- Hinterlands: North of the Altar of Zul, /way 48 59
- Azshara: Southwestern mountains near The Forlorn Ridge, /way 22 79
- Searing Gorge: /way 55 65
Closing each Fel Portal spawns an Enraged Leywalker, a level 47 arcane elemental — naturally, it is immune to Arcane damage. These are challenging fights even at level 50; bring a group if possible. Depending on which zone you are in, you’ll receive a separate Leycryst item after defeating the Enraged Leywalker:
- Azshara: Azshara Leycryst
- Hinterlands: Hinterlands Leycryst
- Feralas: Feralas Leycryst
- Searing Gorge: Blackrock Leycryst
Once you’ve collected one of each Leycryst, combine them all to learn this Rune.

Surge of Light Rune

Kill the Echo of a Lost Soul and loot Prophecy of the Lost Tribe to get your Rune.

Echo of a Lost Soul only appears between 9 PM and 6 AM server time.

This mob has a buff, Protected by Shadows, which gives it immunity to Fire, Frost, Holy, Nature, Physical, and Shadow damage. You can kill it efficiently with Arcane damage ( Starshards if you’re a Night Elf or a wand using Arcane damage will do it). However, you can also hit it with several casts of your strongest Holy spell and you’ll wear through the defenses (“Your holy magic has rendered the spirit vulnerable! Quickly, release it from its torment!”). A couple more casts of Holy damage will finish it off.

Find an Echo of a Lost Soul at one of several locations:

Tanaris: Gadgetzan graveyard, /way 54.0 28.6
Swamp of Sorrows: Graveyard southeast of Stonard /way 50.4, 61.1
Stranglethorn Vale: Ruins of Aboraz, /way 30.0 73.0
Hinterlands: Graveyard northwest of Revantusk Village, /way 72.6 68.0

Void Zone Rune

This Rune requires Friendly reputation with Emerald Wardens. Once you are Friendly, check in with an Emerald Wardens Quartermaster and purchase your Rune for 1 60.

Divine Aegis Rune

Pick up the quest The Wild Gods from Shadowtooth Emissary in Emerald Sanctuary, Felwood, /way 51.5 82. This initial quest is not shareable; everyone will need to pick it up for themselves.
Only one player in a group needs to have done this step: Go to Jinth’Alor in the Hinterlands. Kill elite trolls to obtain Wildwhisper Draught.
Go to Razorfen Downs and clear the area around Amnennar the Coldbringer. Drink Wildwhisper Draught to spawn Spirit of Agamaggan. Speak to him to get a quest and Agamaggan’s Roar. Only one player needs to drink the draught to spawn him.
You can either do all three Dungeons for variety, or you can do multiple runs on the same dungeon. There is no difference between the Wild Offering drops among the three mobs. Since Wild Offering also becomes a currency (see Tips below), you will want to farm more of these anyway.

In each of these three Dungeons related to this Rune, you will need to kill specific mobs in to spawn a ghostly mob.

This ghostly mob can be killed once per Dungeon lockout, meaning resetting the same Dungeon and running it again is a valid strategy. When you trigger the conditions for the ghostly mob, you get a chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence”. Use Agamaggan’s Roar near the ghostly mob; this makes a level 52 elite called the Delirious Ancient turn hostile. Each Ancient drops 1x Wild Offering:
- Zul’Farrak: Clear any three bosses to spawn a Ghostly Spider to summon Delirious Ancient.
- Maraudon: Clear Princess Theradras area and spawn a Ghostly Raptor to summon Delirious Ancient. The Ghostly Raptor is in the water on the upper level near the turtles; do NOT jump down for it.
- Blackrock Depths: Kill all three boss encounters — High Interrogator Gerstahn, Houndmaster Grebmar, and the Ring of Law event — to spawn a Ghostly Basilisk on the Dark Iron Highway (road to Bael’gar) to summon Delirious Ancient.
Once you have collected all three Wild Offerings, return to Shadowtooth Emissary to collect your Rune.

Eye of the Void Rune

This requires finding 7 Eyes — four in Eastern Kingdoms and three in Kalimdor. The final quest step is in Kalimdor.

Eastern Kingdoms Eyes

The Hinterlands: Glowing Eye, Jinth’Alor, /way 58.4 72.7
Blasted Lands – Pulsating Eye, /way 49 14. Need a Slow Fall effect while mounted to get to it.
Searing Gorge: Vibrating Eye, The Slag Pit, /way 43.8 45.8.

Priests will need to complete a small jumping puzzle to enter the cave that this Eye is in. The easiest way to complete this is to go to (/way 45.3 50.2) and position yourself with your back to the cliff, then walk backwards off the edge. You’ll drop safely onto the entrance of the cave and will have quick access to this Eye.
Stranglethorn Vale: Baleful Eye, /way 33 88. On a table directly behind Captain Stillwater.

Kalimdor Eyes

Feralas: Burning Eye, /way 57.2 68.7. Northwest tower in the Ruins of Isildien, behind a Night Elf NPC
Tanaris: Oozing Eye, /way 56.4 73.7. Middle of the room inside the Silithid hive in The Gaping Chasm. Enter the cave via the south entrance, go left, then left again to the circular room, walk through that room, then go right and it is in the center of the room at the end of the tunnel.
Felwood: Piercing Eye, /way 36.5 55.7. Inside Jaedenar (entrance /way 35.3 58.7). Near the Captured Arko’narin. Mobs near the eye are 54-55, so bring friends.

Rune Completion

Once you have collected all 7 Eyes, head to (/way 89 33) in Azshara, all the way out to the east on the northern pinnacle. There, you’ll find Shrine of the Watcher nestled into a doorway in the ruins, and with all Eyes in your inventory, target the Shrine of the Watcherand /kneel. The Shrine of the Watcher will then offer the quest Seven Eyes I Seek… to turn in your Eyes, granting you this Rune.

Pain and Suffering Rune

Head to Tanaris and farm Wastewander mobs east of Gadgetzan. Coded Warlock Notes drops from Wastewander Shadow Mages and Wastewander Cipher drops from Wastewander Thief mobs.
Combine these items to get Deciphered Warlock Notes.
Head to /way 58.0 36.0. Look for a Cryptic Scroll of Summoning on the ground. You will see the name when you mouse over it, but is not interactable.
Stand on the Scroll and use the Deciphered Warlock Notes.
This will summon an Enraged Voidwalker, a level 43 Elite. Kill it and loot the Rune.

Priest Runes from SoD Phase 2

All Runes in Phase 2 have the same location for both Alliance and Horde.

Empowered Renew Rune

Thousand Needles

This Rune is dropped by various Grimtotem mobs such as Grimtotem Stomper. A good place to farm is right around /way 34.4 30.6.

Alterac Mountains

This Rune is dropped by Crushridge Ogre mobs. These can be found along the eastern edge of the snowy area of the zone, such as at /way 52.8 44.6.

Mind Spike Rune

Desolace

Obtain the Highway Robbery quest in Desolace at an Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard, /way 47 54
Go to /way 63 39, near Kormek’s Hut. Turn it in to Bibbly F’utzbuckle and pick up the quest On the Lam.

Booty Bay

Go to the inn in Booty Bay. Turn On the Lam in Tokal, and pick up Cherry for Your Thoughts?. Buy her Cherry Grog. She will send you on the next part of your quest, No Honor Among Thieves.

Arathi Highlands

There is Rowboat under the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands, around /53 91 on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat and you will be teleported to the eastern shore.
Find Illari Duskfeather and speak with her. For most races, she will give (two equally hostile) dialogue options; upon choosing one, she will fight you. Defeat her, pick up the dropped bag and loot Illari’s Key. Open the chest and loot the Rune.

Renewed Hope Rune

Desolace

Kill Nagas on the northwestern shoreline to acquire Unsettling Vision.
Use Mind Control on Slitherblade Tide Priestess to acquire her Meditation buff.
Use Unsettling Vision to learn Renewed Hope.

Dispersion Rune

This Rune requires steps that only other classes can take.

You first need a Rogue who has earned the Master of Subtlety Rune Guide – WoW Classic Season of Discovery Rune and acquired Jani’s Charm. With Jani’s Charm, the Rogue must use Pick Pocket on trolls in Stranglethorn Vale (known to come from Bloodscalp Scavenger around /way #1434 33 14. This will yield a Mysterious Troll Scroll.
You need a Mage to use a Comprehension Charm to decipher the Mysterious Troll Scroll into a Deciphered Troll Scroll. The scroll reads “When Zul’Kund’s fountain runs with the waters of the holy spring, the gods grant their blessing”.
Loot Holy Spring Water from the Holy Spring (Naga fountain) in the southern part of Stranglethorn Vale, /way #1434 28.9 62.0. This is the Naga area where Lord Sakrasis can spawn.

Pain Suppression Rune

Loot Echos across four zones. Echos are on graves in the following areas:

Scarlet Monastery (Graveyard) – Graveyard Echo about halfway down the grave area and to the left (near where the Headless Horseman spawns during the holiday event in Retail)
Arathi Highlands – Arathi Echo – Go’shek Farm, /way 62 54
Dustwallow Marsh – Theramore Echo, in graveyard around /way 63.5 42.5
Swamp of Sorrows – Swamp Echo – /way 16.8 53.8
Go to the Scarlet Monastery – Library wing. Activate the Echos at the correct statues in the following order:
- Warrior – Swamp Echo
- Mage – Arathi Echo
- Paladin – Theramore Echo
- Priest – Graveyard Echo

If you have done all steps correctly, a glowing sphere will appear in the middle of the room. Loot the Memory of a Leader’s Betrayal and use to learn Pain Suppression.

Spirit of the Redeemer Rune

Travel to Deadwind Pass and speak with the Dalaran Agent at Ariden’s Camp (/way 52 35). They will give you Ariden’s Sigil.
With Ariden’s Sigil equipped, or while with another player that has Ariden’s Sigil equipped, players must find and kill seven Dark Rider Elites after using Ariden’s Sigil to Reveal Dark Rider, which will reward them with a different Dalaran Relic. Players will know a Dark Rider is nearby if they obtain the Dark Presence buff.
- Deadwind Pass: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 43 29) and drops Curious Dalaran Relic.
- Duskwood: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 23 47) and drops Glittering Dalaran Relic.
- Swamp of Sorrows: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 69 28).
- Arathi Highlands: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 60 40).
- Badlands: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 58 54).
- The Barrens: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 52 36).
- Desolace: the Dark Rider can be found at (/way 65 25).
- It is unknown which Dark Rider drops each of the remaining Relics, but the Relics are as follows: Odd Dalaran Relic, Whirring Dalaran Relic, Heavy Dalaran Relic, Slippery Dalaran Relic, Creepy Dalaran Relic.
Once players have obtained all Dalaran Relics, return to the Dalaran Agent and turn in each of the various reward quests for experience and some silver:
Once all seven Dalaran Relics have been returned, players will obtain this Rune as a final reward.

Chronostatic Preservation Rune

Thousand Needles

Collect 3 sets of Partial Spell Notes by having 3-4 mages cool a Scorched mob in Thousand Needles with ice spells such as Frostbolt or Ice Lance:

Singed Highperch Consort, located around /way 11.2 39.8
Scorched Screeching Roguefeather, located near the harpy caves on the southern wall, /way 26.6 47.2
Seared Needles Cougar, located near the Great Lift, /way 24.0 23.6. Cat is caged; you will need to get the key from any Galak Mauler.

Combine the Spell Notes to receive the rune.

Priest Runes from SoD Phase 1

In Phase 1, most early Runes have different locations for either Alliance or Horde. Higher level Runes do have the same discovery location for both factions.

Penance Rune

Obtain Shatterspear Offering from Naga mobs, then drop into the pit of the Ruins of Mathystra and use the offering on a statue underwater (/way 59.2 22.6).

Horde

The Barrens

Obtain Helping Hand from Razormane mobs. You need to use Resurrection (Rank 1 specifically) on someone for the hand to open it and loot the Rune from it.

Silverpine Forest

Drops from Wailing Spirit at (/way 60, 74).

Mind Sear Rune

Tenebrous Epiphany is purchasable for 2 when you reach Friendly with the new Supply Factions, Durotar Supply and Logistics for Horde players and Azeroth Commerce Authority for Alliance players.

Serendipity Rune

Find Grizzby in Ratchet at level 25 and complete three quests for him to unlock his vendor tab. This will allow you to purchase Harmonious Epiphany for 5.

Shredder Turbochargers: Use Shredder Autosalvage Unit on Venture Co. Light Shredder to obtain the 16 Shredder Turbocharger items required for this quest.
Dark Iron Ordinance: Simply kill the Dark Iron Dwarves in northern Wetlands obtain the 20 required Dark Iron Ordinance drops for this quest.
Fish Oil: The Fish Oil drops from level 28+ murlocs in Wetlands or Hillsbrad Foothills. You will have to farm or buy 24 of them

Loch Modan

Kneel (/kneel) at the Heretic Idol in Mo’grosh Stronghold.(/way 71.8 27.6).

Westfall

Drops off Leprithus.

Darkshore

Interact with a glowing orb on a small island at (/way 30.5, 47.5).

Horde

The Barrens

Find the Desert Mirage (around /way 54.8 35.6) and cast Dispel on it.

Silverpine Forest

Loot a scroll on the table near Thule Ravenclaw at the top of the tower on Fenris Isle.

Strength of Soul Rune

Aquire Primal Insight from any Thistlefur mob in Ashenvale, then climb up the tree at (/way 38, 29) past the cave entrance. Use the Primal Insight next to the dreamcatcher with Priest Runes and SoD Locations – WoW Classic at once.

Power Word: Barrier Rune

Drops from Blackrock Shadowcaster in the Stonewatch area of Redridge Mountains. To learn it, you need to have two different Meditation buffs active at once.

Circle of Healing Rune

Duskwood

Dark Insight drops from Defias Night Runner and Defias Enchanter. The secluded grave you have to bring it to is located at roughly (/way 90, 30), northeast of Darkshire. You must have Priest Runes and SoD Locations – WoW Classic to learn this Rune. The route in the image below allows you to avoid the high level ghouls and safely make it there.
