A recent Exploit has been discovered with the Black Morrigan Bestiary Craft which caused all Items to have the maximum 6 Sockets, regardless the item.

A recent Exploit has been discovered with the Black Morrigan Bestiary Craft which caused all Items to have the maximum 6 Sockets, regardless the item.

With the addition of the Bestiary Scarab of The Shadowed Crow this league a number of upgraded Bestiary crafts were added via The Black Mórrigan, one of them being “Modify an Item to Have Maximum Possible Links.” On a 6 socket item this guarantees a 6 link. It requires 2 red beasts, the aforementioned Black Morrigan and Craicic Sand Spitter.

New Exploit causes Items to have 6-Sockets

GGG has usually modified/removed bugged items and (in rarer cases) banned players for performing exploits, so we recommend against doing things like buying/socketing gems in these items. If you do, you do so at your own risk.

GGG just fixed the recipe, so far none of the crafted items have been removed from the game, but you cannot abuse the recipe anymore! just tried it myself and so have people from global

Fixed a bug which allowed the Bestiary craft using The Black Morrigan Recipe to not respect item socket rules. We’re investigating the items that have been created through this method and are working on fixing them. Any gems socketed in these items are at risk for being destroyed when these items are fixed.

Whatever happens to Players abusing this Bug and the Items that were eventually created is still in question. GGG has responded that they are currently investigating this issue further and are willing to take any action needed.

GGG has also warned players to not purchase any of these exploited items due to them potentially removing them or rendering them unusable.
