The recent Exploit that caused several Items to disregard their socket limit has caused many items to appear on the market. GGG has now deleted most of these in a recent Hotfix.

The recent Exploit that caused several Items to disregard their socket limit has caused many items to appear on the market. GGG has now deleted most of these in a recent Hotfix.

We previously reported about a bug from the Black Morrigan Bestiary Craft that causes Items to have 6 Sockets that should not have this amount!

With the addition of the Bestiary Scarab of The Shadowed Crow this league a number of upgraded Bestiary crafts were added via The Black Mórrigan, one of them being “Modify an Item to Have Maximum Possible Links.” On a 6 socket item this guarantees a 6 link. It requires 2 red beasts, the aforementioned Black Morrigan and Craicic Sand Spitter.

GGG Removes Exploited Items

It has been days since this bug was discovered, and it took GGG several days to implement a hotfix to the Bestiary Craft.

During this time, all exploited Items have not yet been changed, and it was not clear what Grinding Gear Games was planning about these pieces of Gear. A hotfix has just been deployed on the Live Servers that fixed all invalid sockets on these Items, which also caused all socketed Gems in these faulty Slots to be destroyed aswell.

Fixed items that had an invalid number of sockets, such as being added from The Black Morrigan Bestiary craft. The invalid sockets on these items have now been removed. Any gems in the removed sockets are not recoverable.
