Best Offensive Skills for Plunderstorm
There is an offensive skill that is dominating right now, Fire Whirl.
The Best Offensive skill is very much Fire Whirl and it’s not even close.
This ability does a lot of AoE damage and increases your movement speed. In addition, you have full control of your character and don’t have to aim a skill shot that might miss your target if they dodge. If you catch someone in a Fire Whirl and just move your mouse around so you can remain on them, it does so much damage. It’s also good to farm mobs for experience!
The downside of this skill in a vacuum is that you have to get on get on top of enemies, but this can be made up for in so many ways including utility skills.
A great secondary offensive ability is Rime Arrow.
This ability cannot miss. That’s it. It has a decent range and can poke players down from range and unless they gap close or have Rime Arrow as well, you’ll slowly bring their health down before going in for a kill. it also interrupts healing after your enemy tries to disengage.
The ability doesn’t do a lot of damage but given the lack of other solid options and Fire Whirl being so dominant, this is a great second option at the moment.
If you want another decent ability and don’t want to play the poke game, Storm Archon can deal a lot of damage, but you do have to hit your shots.
Another good ranged option, those with a little more upkeep since you’ll want to press the ability again to explode the shield when its near your enemies.
Best Utility Skills for Plunderstorm
With the dominance of Fire Whirl, the best utility skills for Plunderstorm are anything that helps your Fire Whirl or counters enemies’ Fire Whirls. Crowd Control abilities are very good so you can spin on top of them and destroy their health pool.
One of the easiest CC abilities to hit, especially if you’re already in melee with them. It adds a lot of area denial or will just trap them right away, preventing them from moving for a couple of seconds allowing you to hit your abilities without the fear of misses.
This ability makes you immune to all CCs while casting it, then silences anyone close to you and knocks them back. Because of the overabundance of Fire Whirl, it’ll shut down anyone that tries approaching you as long as you’re not stunned before hand.
A ranged skill shot that stuns any targets hit. It can function both as a defensive and offensive option. If someone is Fire Whirling on you, use it defensively to stop them in their track. Otherwise, hit someone with at ranged and you can go in for the kill.
This is a great movement ability as it’s a blink followed by a Stealth option that can make you unpredictable. Defensively, you can blink away from enemies when you’re in trouble, then try to disengage. Offensively, you can use the ability to get in quick and drop Steel Traps or Fire Whirl on their face.
Another great movement ability, slightly leaning towards being more offensive since if you hit the skill, it stuns them right away and sets them up to be Fire Whirl. You’ll have to try to get used to how it works in order to crash down early on top of them, but it also functions as a decent option to run from a fight!
