In the latest round of hotfixes, the drop rate of Threads and Gems from Mogu’shan Vaults and Heart of Fear Trash has been significantly nerfed. What used to drop ~25 threads and gems per run. now only drops about 3 of each.
Players would farm up to the first boss in both Mogu’shan Vaults and Heart of Fear which would take about a minute. It was very efficient for 10 minutes, then you would wait for the 10 dungeons per hour lockout to drop and do it again.
At this point players are just going through every 
Potion of Luck farming spot from Mists of Pandaria in the search of power.
players were farming Gate of the Setting Sun on Heroic mode as all the trash before the first boss would drop around 15 Threads. While there were a number of groups exploiting the Instance cap, there were some groups who were just doing their 10 runs and calling it good for the hour.
Unfortunately, these mobs seem to have been nerfed, dropping 1 or 2 Threads now from a clear of Trash.
