Changes to Destruction Warlock in The War Within

In The War Within, many classes have received significant changes to their talent trees and tuning. One of the new features in The War Within are the Hero Talents, unlocked at Level 71 and allowing players to choose between two spec-altering Hero Classes.

WARLOCK

Demon Skin now creates an absorb for 0.12/0.24% maximum health (was 0.2/0.4%) and may stack up to 5/10% of your maximum health (was 8/15%).
Fixed an issue where Lifeblood was giving Leech higher than the intended amount.
Destruction
- Chaos Bolt damage increased by 40%.
- Shadowburn damage increased by 125%.
- Conflagrate damage increased by 25%.
- Incinerate damage decreased by 10%.
- Soul Fire damage increased by 5%.
- Channel Demonfire damage increased by 10%.
- Channel Demonfire damage dealt to nearby enemies increased by 25%.
- Summon Infernal damage increased by 10%.
- Rain of Fire damage increased by 35%.
- Pyrogenics now increases damage taken from your Fire spells by 3% (was 5%).
- Ritual of Ruin now activates after spending 20 Soul Shards (was 15).
- Avatar of Destruction now generates 1 Soul Shard Fragment every 1 second (was 0.5 seconds).
- Summon Infernal now generates 1 Soul Shard Fragment every 1 second (was 0.5 seconds).
- Fixed an issue where Power Overwhelming incorrectly gave 1% Mastery instead of 0.5% Mastery per stack.
- Fixed an issue where 3 stacks of Power Overwhelming were granted when using Rain of Fire while talented into Inferno.
- Fixed an issue where Rain of Fire could damage enemies through walls.

The further we will get into the current expansion, the effects of diminishing returns start to limit the effectiveness of your secondary stats. After reaching 30% through secondary stats (eg. ~19800 Haste) on your gear, you will start receiving a penalty for each further point on your gear. This penalty reduces the gain from more of the same stat over this threshold.

Rotation Example for Destruction Warlock

Pre-cast Incinerate at 2 seconds before the pull.
Pre-cast Cataclysm instantly after Incinerate to apply Immolate.
Cast Summon Infernal.
Cast Channel Demonfire.
Apply Havoc to a secondary target (if one is present).
Use Berserking as well as any on-use trinkets you have.
Use Blood Fury as well as any on-use trinkets you have.
Cast Conflagrate to generate Backdraft stacks, try use this on Chaos Bolt as much as possible.
Cast Dimensional Rift at least once.
Cast Chaos Bolt.
Fill with Incinerate.
Continue generating soul shards and spending it with Chaos Bolt. Use your Backdraft stacks on Chaos Bolt as much as possible.
